US military aircraft conducted reconnaissance at the western borders of Russia

Two American reconnaissance aircraft on Friday performed many hours of flight at the borders of Russia in the Baltic.

According to them, the US Air Force strategic reconnaissance aircraft RC-135W, flying from the Mildenhall airbase in the UK, flew around the Kaliningrad region along the perimeter of its borders in the airspace of Poland, Lithuania and over the Baltic Sea. Then for a long time, he was barraging west of her. Tasks were carried out at a distance of 60-85 km from the Russian borders at an altitude of 10 thousand meters. The aircraft, capable of conducting electronic reconnaissance at a great depth of the enemy’s territory, including intercepting radio communications, detecting the operation mode of air defense systems and electronic warfare, was located near the borders of the Kaliningrad region for more than three hours.

Meanwhile, a US Army Beechcraft RC-12X Guardrail tactical electronic intelligence aircraft flying from Siauliai in Lithuania cruised along the north and northeast of the Kaliningrad Region in Lithuanian airspace. The flight of a twin-engine turboprop aircraft with the call sign YANK02 lasted more than four hours. It passed at a distance of 32-42 km from the border at an altitude of about seven thousand meters.

According to open sources, such aircraft are equipped with the latest equipment to intercept electronic signals and determine their location.

Also, on Friday, a U.S. Navy patrol aircraft P-8A Poseidon, flying from Sigonella airbase on the Italian island of Sicily, conducted another reconnaissance off the coast of Syria and the Russian airbase Khmeimim located there and the Russian Navy’s logistics base at the port of Tartus.
