United Airlines, often simply referred to as United, is the North American airline of the top 5 in the United States. The airline’s home port is located in Chicago. The main hubs are airports in Houston, Chicago, New York, Denver, San Francisco, Washington, Los Angeles, Guam, and Tokyo.

United is the world leader in the number of destinations in its route network (375 cities) and the second airline in the world in terms of passenger-kilometer. The company employs about 90,000 employees.

United Airlines is one of the founders of the first and largest international aviation alliance Star Alliance. The main competitors of the airline are American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and Southwest Airlines.
