Panha Sorena

Panha Sorena is an Iranian multi-purpose light helicopter developed by the Iranian Helicopter Support and Renewal Company in 2014.

Work-related to the design of a light multi-purpose helicopter of the Panha Sorena model began by Iranian aircraft manufacturers in 2010, while, unlike the previous aircraft of this Iranian manufacturer, the Panha Sorena model is positioned solely as a civilian aircraft. As a primary basis, Iranian engineers and designers used several American light helicopters, including the Robinson R44 model, which is very characteristic in the design and construction features, however, in general, the Panha Sorena helicopter has a number of its advantages and that is why it is positioned as a separate model.

The Panha Sorena aircraft has a very compact size, which allows it to remain a highly maneuverable aircraft, which is very important, especially when it comes to multi-purpose. Thanks to its lightweight structure, which has very aerodynamic forms, the helicopter has a reduced drag during flight, which allows it to accelerate to higher speeds and lower fuel consumption.

The Panha Sorena model made its first airlift in 2014, and since all the necessary test tests were completed, the project was sent to mass production, where it continues to be located today. The production of Panha Sorena helicopters is carried out by Iranian aircraft manufacturers in two main configurations – as fully ready-to-operate aircraft, and as self-assembly kits, which significantly reduces the cost of the aircraft and does not lead to a lengthy procedure for self-building a helicopter.

The Panha Sorena model helicopter can be used for transporting people, as an air taxi, as a training aircraft, and in other areas of civil aviation. The aircraft can accommodate up to four people, including one pilot and three passengers, however, for some reason, this aircraft cannot carry any cargo on its board, except for the baggage of the pilot and passengers, which somewhat reduces operational aircraft capabilities.

The Iranian multi-purpose civilian helicopter Panha Sorena is equipped with a power plant consisting of one Continental IO-550 brand piston aircraft engine capable of developing a thrust of 300 hp, which in turn provides the helicopter with the ability to fly at a cruising speed of 180 km \ h. Flights at distances up to 420 kilometers.
