Germanwings

Germanwings is a German low-cost airline based in Cologne. It was established in 2002. 100% of the shares are owned by Lufthansa.

Homeport – Cologne Bonn Airport. The main hubs are the airports of Stuttgart, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Dortmund, Hanover, and Berlin-Tegel.

In January 2013, Lufthansa began transferring short-haul flights to Germanwings.

The airline’s route network has more than 110 destinations in Europe, Israel, and North Africa.

Despite their status as a low-cost carrier, Germanwings is trying to find airports that are convenient and familiar to passengers.

Aircraft

As of January 25, 2020, there are 36 airliners in the Germanwings fleet. The average age of aircraft is 18.5 years.

The oldest is Airbus A320-200, with a tail number – D-AIPU. His age is 28.3 years. The newest is the Airbus A319-100, with tail number D-AGWV. He is 6.0 years old.

Aircraft A319 has a configuration of 142 and 156 seats, in the A320 – 174 passenger seats. All layouts provide only an economy class of service.
