Changhe Z-10

CAIC Z-10 is a Chinese attack helicopter developed by Changhe Aircraft Industries Corporation (CAIC) in 2003.

The CAIC Z-10 model attack helicopter was developed by Chinese aircraft manufacturers with the participation of aircraft designers from the Russian company Kamov in 1998. The main reason for starting the development was the need to create a combat aircraft capable of waging an effective fight against armored ground equipment, since, until the 2000s, the Chinese air forces lacked effective combat strike units.

The CAIC Z-10 helicopter project was developed in a very short time and already in 2003, the helicopter made its first test flight, which turned out to be quite a failure, as most of the expectations of the aircraft developers did not come true. Since the leadership of the aircraft manufacturing company Changhe Aircraft Industries Corporation was unsatisfied with the prototype, the project was aimed at further refinement, where it stayed for another 9 years until in 2012 it was officially presented.

To date, the CAIC Z-10 combat helicopter is a fairly effective attack helicopter capable of quickly attacking enemy positions from the air, including destroying both the enemy’s manpower and lightly armored and armored vehicles. Due to the high operational properties of this aircraft, the CAIC Z-10 helicopter is very popular and is one of the main strike units of the Chinese Air Force (the country has more than 100 helicopters of this model in service), and shortly, it is expected to be exported to other countries, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran.
