The longest member of the Airbus A350 XWB family of wide-body aircraft is the most spacious airliner in its class. The new development received a modification of the Airbus A350-1000 and differs from the Airbus A350 800 and Airbus A350 900 in the length of the fuselage, wingspan, capacity, fuel supply, and power plant. Also, with the same wingspan, its area in the longest model was increased by 4%. Otherwise, the largest representative of this line is completely identical to its counterparts (more precisely, the A350-1000 are 95% unified with the A350-900 and are of the same type in terms of piloting).
The A350-1000 is the most capacious model of the A350 family; it seats 40 passengers more than the A350-900. The modification of the liner in the three-class version of comfort can take on board up to 350 passengers. You can order an Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, which will effectively serve long-distance routes with a high passenger traffic density. Economy class low-cost airlines offer regular and charter flights with a maximum load of 550 passengers. The two-class cabin configuration can be arranged to accommodate 369-412 people (usually 366), and in the single-class – 440.
The Airbus A350-1000 passenger airliner fulfills all the requirements of the modern market about cabin comfort, safety, and flight performance. Even when placing 9 seats in a row, a generous seat width of 18 inches is maintained, and when passing along the passenger compartment, no inconvenience to other passengers. Separately, it is worth mentioning the interior lighting in the Airbus A350-1000. The scattered light from well-placed energy-efficient LED lamps visually pushes the boundaries of space and does not create the impression of isolation.
The fuselage of the A350-1000 is made of light carbon fiber. The take-off weight of the Airbus A350-1000 increased to 308 tons √ due to the increase in passenger seats and fuel supply. The aircraft is confidently gaining altitude and landing without the usual noise for large aviation due to the coordinated and precise operation of two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB turbojet engines with a thrust of 44 052 kg/f each. With a reserve of 156,000 liters of fuel and 369 passengers, the liner easily connects pairs of cities within a radius of 14,800 km at a cruising speed of 905 km / h. The speed limit remains the same as in the younger models: Mach 0.89 or 945 km / h. And this is with the dimensions of the Airbus A350-1000 73.78 m in length and 17.08 m in height in the parking lot with a wingspan of 64.75 m.
It is worth noting that this is the largest wing by area among single-deck passenger liners in this segment. The wing area is 443 square meters. m. The use of composite materials and carbon fiber reinforced plastic, as well as progressive aluminum alloys and titanium, did not significantly increase the mass of the empty liner compared to the basic version. The mass of the empty passenger Airbus A350-1000 airliner is 118.1 tons.
The use of fly-by-wire technology has affected the cost savings of retraining and training pilots. The identity of the control system and the commonality of the cockpit allow the fleet to contain several A320, A330, A340, A350, and A380 lines without additional staff expansion. It also reduces maintenance costs, which means lower maintenance costs for Airbus passenger aircraft.
On Thursday, November 24, 2016, the first flight prototype of the Airbus A350-1000 wide-body aircraft took off for the first time. The car took off at 10:42 local time (12:42 Moscow time) from Toulouse airport, according to a European manufacturer.
The flight test program for the largest twin-engine Airbus will take less than a year. It is planned that it will be possible to reduce it through the use of developments obtained during testing of the less capacious A350-900.
Certification and introduction of the aircraft into commercial operation were scheduled for the second half of 2017. The starting customer of the type is Qatar Airways. The first production samples are at the final assembly stage.
As of the end of October 2016, Airbus received firm orders for 195 A350-1000 aircraft.
