Airbus A321neo

Airbus A321neo (A321-251N) is the largest representative of the new Airbus A320neo family of aircraft developed by the European Airbus concern. The liner is a deep modernization of the popular Airbus A321 passenger airliner with new generation engines and larger wingtips (sharklets).

A321neo aircraft can reduce fuel consumption “per seat” by 15% since commissioning and by 20% by 2020. Also, the A321neo is the quietest airliner in its class. So, the area of ​​the soundtrack A321neo on takeoff is 50% less than that of the A320ceo. This will significantly reduce noise pollution, which is especially important for residents whose homes are located near airports.

A321neo aircraft is designed to carry 185 passengers. in a two-class layout and 236 in a single-class layout. The flight range is 6850 km against 5950 km in the classic version.

For its A321neo, the airline chose CFM LEAP-1A engines. Neo family aircraft can also be powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1100G engines. Perhaps the choice of engines was influenced by the fact that Virgin America now operates 63 previous-generation A319 and A320 aircraft with CFM56-5B engines.

The A321neo with Pratt & Whitney engines was certified in December 2016, the CFM LEAP version in March 2017.

In April 2017, Airbus delivered the first delivery of the A321neo, the most spacious representative of its narrow-bodied family of aircraft. The recipient of the aircraft was the American airline Virgin America.

Virgin America was the starting customer of the A320neo in December 2010. The first delivered A321neo can accommodate 185 passengers. in three classes of service. The first flight he must complete on May 31 en route San Francisco – Washington.
