This summer, Air Canada offers customers a choice of nearly 100 destinations. Although the schedule has been shortened due to the pandemic, you still have a lot of flights to choose from within domestic and international destinations.
Due to COVID-19, Air Canada had to cut its schedule for the summer of 2020. If last year the airline carried out 220 destinations, today it’s only 97.
The airline introduced the Air Canada CleanCare + biosecurity program and introduces new cancellation options that are retroactive until March 1, 2020. This will give customers greater flexibility and choice if their travel plans change for any reason.
“Air Canada has introduced a shortened summer schedule. The airline offers a choice of almost 100 destinations in Canada, the United States, and internationally. We are gradually opening summer flights for sale, ”an Air Canada spokesman said.
The company updated its schedule until the end of July with the resumption of certain services in the markets of the USA, the Caribbean, South America, Europe, and the Pacific.
With the new schedule, the airline will again operate flights to the USA – New York, Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, and Chicago.
Early June: Air Canada will resume flights from Toronto to Frankfurt, London, Zurich, Tokyo, and Tel Aviv. Airplanes will fly from Montreal to Frankfurt, London, Paris, and Brussels. And finally, from Vancouver, Air Canada will fly to London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Seoul.
Expansion is planned from mid-June: future routes include flights from Montreal to Athens, Rome, and Geneva; from Toronto to Munich, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Rome, and Athens; from Calgary to Frankfurt; and Vancouver to Shanghai (pending government approval).
In August and September, more routes will be added.
Along with this new schedule, Air Canada has updated its cancellation policy.
If the customer cancels his flight, he will have two options:
- get an unlimited travel voucher
- the ability to convert the cost of booked tickets to Aeroplan and get an additional 65% bonus miles.
New rules and cancellation options are possible for customers who have flights from March 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021.
Passengers who previously received vouchers with a validity period will be able to exchange them for unlimited ones from June 15.
